Treetop walk Salzkammergut

On the treetop walk Salzkammergut you can experience unique perspectives high above the forest floor with breathtaking panoramic views of Gmunden and the Traunsee region.

Passing numerous information and adventure stations, the treetop walk winds its way through the mixed mountain forest on the Grünberg.

The highlight of the trail is the 39 metre high observation tower, which offers a breathtaking view of Lake Traunsee, the Salzkammergut and the Dachstein from the top platform of the tower. And you can go down the observation tower with its 75-meter-long tunnel slide - pure action is guaranteed.

You should plan around 1 hour to visit the trail.

Please note: The treetop walk can be reached by the Grünberg cable car or on foot, but NOT by car! Please park your car in the valley.

With the combi ticket treetop walk, you can take the Grünberg cable car up to Gmunden's local mountain and experience unique perspectives high above the forest floor on the treetop walk Salzkammergut.

NOTE: Use of the slide is not included in the treetop walk and combi-ticket. Tickets for the tunnel slide are available at the treetop walk ticket office on the Grünberg. Ticket slide = € 2.00 per ride (from 6 years).

    Yes, the treetop walk is low barrier and with a maximum gradient of 6% accessible with assistive equipment - nothing stands in the way of your mountain experience with limited mobility!

    Pets are not allowed on the treetop walk. Dog boxes with drinking water are available near the entrance area.

  • Year of birth regulations:

    • Child: born 2008 - 2017

    • Youth: born 2005, 2006, 2007

    • Senior: born 1960 and older (ID required)

    • Pupils: born 2005 - 2017

  • Children born in 2018 and younger are free when accompanied by a parent (family ID required)

  • Family tickets: Family discount (proof required). Parent plus at least 1 child.

  • Bus and tour groups: Group rates apply to groups of 20 or more, every 21st person is free.

  • School groups: Tickets and fares are only valid for closed school classes, of 10 pupils or more, as part of school lessons. One accompanying teacher is free for every 10 paying pupils.

  • Combi-tickets are available in the online shop and at the Grünberg ticket office. Tickets for the treetop walk only can be purchased at the treetop walk ticket office on Grünberg (treetop walk entrance).

  • The treetop walk tickets do not include the ride on the Grünberg cable car.
